The Table-Ronde "Silex et Territoires préhistoriques.  Avancées des recherches dans le Midi de la France" was successfully held in Lattes, France, from June 13th to 15th.  About 60 people attended, and enjoyed two full days of presentations and one day in the field.  Plans are now underway to put together a publication derived from the proceedings.  Félicitations! to the organisers, Céline Bressy, Sophie Grégoire and Frédéric Bazile.  The abstracts are available at http://tautavel.univ-perp.fr/lattes2008.htm.

Comment: Hi Floyd, As you must have learned by now I have stepped down [gracefully?] from the ASCSA Trustees. Chris Kraft and I are doing a book on the Bronze Age Coasts of Greece and Aegean Turkey.

Comment: Many of you have read part or all of my book 'Archaeomineralogy' [Springer 2002]. I am doing a Second Edition which which will cover topics on the human use of rocks and minerals up to the end of the 18th century AD. I am looking for advice on what topics readers found to be missing in the First Edition. All constructive criticisms will be appreciated. Thanks. Rip Rapp
